Right-click this preset file and click "Save link as...". This video preset will ensure your video is in the correct format.
After installing Handbrake, open it up and drag the video you want to convert into the application.
Once the video has been loaded, click 'Options' in the bottom right, click import and select the saftas.json file that you downloaded in Step 2.
On Mac you can find the preset import in the top context menu
After the settings file has been imported, select the SAFTAS Setting in the Presets pane on the right (under User Presets). The settings will then be applied.
PLEASE NOTE: You can change the settings such as frame rate and resolution, as well as other settings, as long as you use the H.264 codec and have a file in MP4 format that is less than 1.5gb in size.
Your video will also require hard-coded English subtitles. If your video doesn't contain subtitles already, you can add subtitles by going to the Subtitles tab.
The most common subtitle file format is the .srt format. Ensure that your subtitle track is in the SRT format, then click Import SRT and select your subtitle track. Once it is imported, also select Burn In as in the screenshot below.
Enter the destination location where the converted file should be saved and click Start.
